not if the earths are connected to the c/u ,but showing earths on sockets in brick walls . and cables under wooden floors and not touching any pipe work. I have checked for that .even up stairs socket showing earths where present .Surely its as simple as something metal, probably the incoming cold water pipe, connected via other pipes to an earthed metal appliance. Very easy to prove too.
