Just finished a garage install. I asked if my quote was much less than the others. The customer supplied all the sockets (MK), lights and CU (MK) and CU for house (Wylex). All I supplied was some cable and conduit. and 2 days of my time. I quoted competetively at £470
The customer told me that he had a quote from Mr Electric for £1200!!!!!
I nearly fell over. He told the customer that he would be charging him at least £10 per socket even though the customer was supplying them. He was also very arrogant and brash.
You can imagine the customers joy at my phone call with my quote. I was worrying that he would say no as money is tight for everyone at the moment.
As it happens the customer was a carpenter and had a fair idea of the costs so payed me £500 instead!!!!! He also helped out like an apprentice (double bonus).
Anyone else come accross massive over inflated pricing like this?
