Hi guys,
Went to look at a job today where they are wanting power installing into an outbuilding. The outbuildings consist of an outside toilet and a store room. I noticed they also had a outside tap. The water is bonded in 10mm inside the house and the water supply to the outbuilding is installed underground in copper. Would i need to bond the outside Water tap in 10mm aswell.
If you need to know anything I have not covered just ask

Thanks

Is it a remote outbuilding?

It's an adjoining outbuilding but you do have to go outside obviously to get access to the toilet

Is the water pipe in the outbuilding connected to the house water pipe i.e. Is it from a common supply and not 2 separate water supplies?

then it's already bonded via the copper pipe. easy check is to get your wander lead out and measure the resistance to the MET and to the main water bond in the house.

Defiantly worth testing the part in question.. even if the main water supply were plastic and not requiring bonding this copper pipe thats buried would be extraneous and creating a earth fault path even though main incomer is plastic, similar to some houses where heating pipes are buried in the floor. Get the test leads out, & well spotted.
