simple answer guys, don't need any smart arse replies.

Plant room with Boiler, do the luminaries have to be vaporproof? If so whats the reg. (Yes I've got the BBB).

Also another silly question, is the vapour proof fitting, just one with clips on the side? (Oh feel I'm going to slammed for that one)

Friday evening, few beers in, be gentle

Depends on the local environment in the room. Generally they do tend to be, but sometimes we fitted them to give the flurroscent lamps some protection from people storing ladders etc which may hit them. And yes, the clip secures it against a seal to create the vapourproof fitting.

There are no special requirements in BS7671 for boiler rooms as far as I know.

A true vapour proof fitting would not be necessary, but the term 'vapourproof' has come to be used as a general term for any sealed/weather resistant, corrosion resistant fluorescent or led batten, which I suspect is what you are referring to.

Would need to be suitable for the environment, risk of impact, liquid/dust ingress? If there's vapour from the boiler I'd say there's a problem...
