Hi everyone,
Hope everyone is keeping well.
At a property Fault finding prior to consumer unit upgrade.
Amazing that some bright spark thought it be a good idea to use the Cpc as a neutral And create a pen conducter.
Anyway,
Have a fault on a ring/radial circuit,
Tested end to end on what I thought was a ring, No continuity on any conductors, did IR test between both legs and all clear. So looks like it’s two radials, Or a separated/broken ring.
All IR tests are clear, And all ZS and continuity tests at all but two sockets Good,
Have two sockets that are are giving me 127V , and Although the CPC is visible at the socket, not getting any reading ( well getting greater than 2000) when testing to earth.
I’m thinking that the ring has been separated at some point and done badly,
Any advice on why I might be getting 127 vaults are two sockets for all of us are okay, been lifting floorboards and searching for dodgy junction boxes, but so far no luck.
Any thoughts would be helpful,
Thanks in advance
