What model of meter, how have you connected the test leads, what sort of RCCB is it?

Easier for us to give a concise answer if we aren't spoon fed information.

Jay we been to know the meter make and model, is it an rcbo or rcd main switch and whether the fail is immediate and what does the meter indicate.

It thought it might be cause some of the loads where still connected, but when testing a rcd , u can normally still carry out the test with loads still connected.

Isolate the loads and outgoing neutrals and retry.

So the mft is on auto, so has the test started and failed on the 1/2 test?
Polarity incorrect?

A little more detail required, what it the tester set to and what is it failing on? Can you post a picture of the rcd?

Does the screen say anything else other than fail?....like >50v for instance?
