So, lesson learned. Always photograph and document how something was together when you start taking it apart. I have an old broken down vintage floor lamp with a table top built in. I began by taking it all apart to reburbish each piece. When it came to the light socket and the top fixtures, the bulb socket was lose and kind of just flopping about inside the metal holder and shade bracket. I have attached a photo of all the parts that the top socket assembly came with. I could figure out how to reassemble it. I even went out a bought another bulb socket that had a threaded attachment on the bottom thinking the long threaded screw would just screw into it. No go as the socket is far to small for the long screw. I have also attached a photo of the new bulb socket I bought as well as just the socket holder. How can I attach the bulb socket to the long screw?

TL;DR
I have an old floor lamp with table attached and bulb socket was loose inside the socket holder. I bought a new bulb socket with a fitting on the bottom I thought would screw onto screw but doesn’t fit. How do I get the bulb socket attached to the long threaded screw in a tall floor lamp?
