Forgive the ignorance of a site newbie but what do you guys do after you've completed the remedials following a test?

Several of our clients want a nice, shiny, "all is well" piece of paper to wave at their insurance companies. All well and good if the work has involved somethiing that results in an installation cert but not so straight forward if the remedials were for bits and bobs.

We tried issuing an itemised bill for work done so they could attatch it to their original paperwork and a couple of them are quite happy with this. Others want the full bells and whistles and this means having to re-do the test and re-issue a new certificate.

Surely there's a better way? If my car fails its MOT then I get a "fail" certificate which tells me whats wrong. Once I get the work done I get a different piece of paper that says it's passed. Simples (to quote that furry twonk on the telly) and I know where I stand. Not quite the same for my clients who finish up with 2 sets of similar paperwork that can easily be mixed up.

So, to reiterate, what do you do?
