A mate of mine had his Mastervolt XS3200W inverter fail--it just stopped. It was replaced ( with a different unit) but the supplier said they had no use for the old one so they said he could keep it. He asked me to have a look at it. I found the fault a insect had crawled into it and "exploded" when it touched something and splattered over part of what I believe is part of the LT circuit. . I replaced a capacitor and rewound the coil which had an open circuit turn. I believe this was cause by goo from the "exploded" insect corroding the wire which, under load and thus heat, gradually ate through and then went open circuit. After this repair the inverter still does not work. It is just dead with no display. No internal fuses have failed so currently it is proving difficult to ascertain the fault-- which I still believe is in the LT supplies.
So has any one got any circuit info on these unit? It seems a shame to bin it for what I suspect is a simple fault.
I tried to post picture but the files <400k .png would not be accepted. Any help here would be welcome
