Soffit spotlight

Hi all,

I would like to fit 2 spotlights in the soffit board above garage door. Planning to come off the garage lighting circuit and feed them from either -

- Existing feed to floodlight - could I simply come out of the junction box for the floodlight and connect to two spot lights with some form of PIR before the spots?

or

- Change existing single light switch to a 2 way switch and supply the lights that way?

Any suggestions/ circuit set up would be greatly appreciated. Also an explanation on incorporating a PIR sensor would be nice.
