that sounds like an excellent idea. unfortunately, because my forum is still screwed up ( stuck in mobile mode or summat ) i can't post a like or a thanks.

Working for friends and family is always problematic, no good deed goes unpunished.

I still have a policy that I won't touch a job for friends or family unless they get an independent quotation first so they know they're not getting ripped when I give them a bill to cover my costs.

I think if we all said to our friends and families to get a quote from Mr Electrical first then they would appreciate what we charge!

All my friends and family know I don't do mates rates or favours of any kind, they all think i'm a miserable sod and thats the way I like it!

Unfortunately Timo, we've all got a story like this; where you try to do something nice for someone. Its sometimes just not worth it mate.
PS: Love your signature by the way, its probably Doyle's most famous quotation. However in real life the 'suspect' is usually the most obvious one.

I must be quite lucky with my family and friends, they always ask me if i'm sure my bill is big enough when i tell them how much it is. However, i always use the line 'well, i'd usually charge.....' before telling them a lower figure. I don't take the p with my prices but i refuse to do it for nothing.

it's not my phone is wrong. usually on laptop, forum went silly a couple of weeks ago, dan suggested clearing cache and things, but no joy. tried from another url, but same thing. seems my forum is stuck in mobile format and no option to alter it.
