Credit crunch pah:p All I have been doing lately is going to big fancy homes installing surround sound and multi room speaker systems. Any way I cannot find a manufacturer that has points for speaker or satellite systems.

So My house has become a mini factory as I buy the connections from Maplins and drill through blank plates of grid systems and make them myself. But usually this is working out inexcess of twenty five quid a point without my labour.

Does anyone know if you can get anything similar pre made???????????

Which type of connections do you need? eg, phono (RCA), mini clamps for speakers, 'bose' and 'bang and olufson' use their own ball **** connectors just to make you buy their cables at £60 a pot.

Asheridge are great for the AV industry. Try henrys on edgware road in London. They are also excellent for advice and half the price of maplins. You should be able to find them on google.

When I used to do a bit of home cinema installs, I always used to bring the cable straight out the wall just behind the speaker, therefore hardly seeing any cable at all.

Hope this helps. Goodluck.

HI Linzi which systems are you installing? Almost all outlets are available off the shelf what are you looking for? SPeaker? RCA Video? Audio?

Cheers Dragon
I have found many different points to buy off the shelf but it always seems cheaper for me to go to maplins and make them myself. Most of them are about 25- 30 quid each, when I can make them for about 6- 8 quid max. Its just that I wanted to save myself a bit of time. Rather than drilling loads of blank grid plates on a sun afternoon. Could be in the pub ya know:p

I am gonna keep researching and if I find anything cheap enough will post on forum.

Some companys do modular plates a bit like grid switch stuff that fit on standard back boxes.
There are modules for phono, 'F' connectors, RJ45, TV, etc etc.

We get some stuff from a firm called Grax, but dont know if you have a branch down your way.

cpc also have a huge range of stuff, you can even get hdmi plates, try it on google

we only have a problem when client wants all plates to match in style. then we custom finish blank plates for them.

Henry's...ok if you like cheap nasty disco speakers and you need a shower after leaving. Do they ever clean the shop? !! ( use to be great , must admit!)

TRiax do a really nice range or Euro grid modules for the most common connections white or black and use any plate GET screwless etc. SO are you installing system Linz or just cabling?
