I’m having a new wall constructed. Whilst digging the foundations the workers came across the incoming main. Note that the steel armour is entirely exposed. U.K. power came to confirm it was their cable but didn’t mention anything relating to the cables condition. Surely this is a ticking time bomb with the steel rusting away compromising the cpc?

There is probably a wrap of steel tape under the armour and then a lead sheath under that which will be the cpc. The lead sheath is excellent at keeping water out and not rotting underground. If UKPN were ok with the condition I wouldn't worry.
