Resin joint in ducting.. Hmm sounds like a dodgy situation. Ducting fills up with water, the joint would need to be 150% perfect or its going to fail in a year or three's time.

I don't mind burying resin SWA joints as they are drained, mostly. But this has the potential to be submerged.

I agree with the others, pull in new cable.

PS, how you going to access the joint site if the end is in the duct?
 
I hate underground joints I always have a feeling that one day it'll let you down
Not sure of the age of the joints under the front gardens of my street. They joined the original pilc cables at some point and replaced with a short section of concentric into the meter box. Possibly late 70's early 80's ?

Mine and both my next door neighbours all failed within 18 months of each other though. Quite well coordinated failure I thought.
 
There have been lots of failed joints of that sort of age where houses are teed off from the main under the pavement.
 
Install one of these and make the joint in there.
