Just wondered what your opinions where to a "touch switch" light switch in zone 2, like the photo attached.
It's a flat glass plate with no mechanical switch as such. You just touch the front plate. I can't see an IP rating on the tech spec, but does this mean its unsafe? Just not sure what advice to give a customer who is adamant they want this for mood lighting in there bathroom

You need to speak to the manufactures to confirm. Can't see it being ok but you never know

My first thought was NO, but then thought about the actual risks involved in using it. There may not be a manufactured seal around the switch, but if the customer ran a silicone seal around the switch then it would be sealed and wouldn't allow any ingress of water or moisture.

It maybe frowned upon, be bad practice and just not look right on a bathroom wall, but what argument could you give to a customer who wants this?

Just the vanity mirror light and 2 x downlights in wall recesses, doesn't dimm, just on/off

Stick with the advice given above:

1, You need to confirm the manufacturers installation instructions to verify if it is IP rated and can be fitted within the required zone.
2, If not, then fit it outside the bath room and sleep easy!
