I think Texecom alarm systems are hard to beat. When installing an elite 24 some weeks ago, I had a small technical query. After some 26 minutes of waiting for technical to answer and listening to the carp music, it cost me £12.86 for the privilege, and still never got my query answered.
 
That is disappointing because I have used their technical line a few times and there has never been a charge. I hope they aren't charging for the online live chat with technical support which is handy (not a lot of use if you are at a customer's house house).

Some of the engineers were complaining last month on the texecom forum how long the wait was when they called the technical help line (some waiting an hour).
 
i've had a few occasions to call Risco tech help. longest wait ever was 4 minutes, and the call was free ( standard landline ).
