Threading conduit (no vice)

I forgot I had a small conduit job tomorrow and I left my conduit bender at work. This means I dont have any kind of vice to hold the 25mm galv whist I thread it.

Any imaginative ideas on how I can thread it without any kind of vice?

I have some clamps but no vice so to speak....

You can put a 90° set into the tube then put it through something to support it but essentially it isn't feasible.

You will have to get yourself an electric threader! They come with one of these:

Unless all your pipes have 90 degree bends in them I wouldn't even attempt it.

Or you could use Conlock fittings, gross.

Unfortunatly it's not a site, it's a side job for a friend.

All I have as options are a bench vice, some mole grips, pipe wrench and clamps.

Starting to sound like a scenario post from tbe trainee section haha

They will all make a mess of the conduit.

Grips will just wreck the tube you could wrap the tube with cloth and sandpaper then grip in the vice but this would be optimistic.

I have some clamps but no vice so to speak....

We have successfully done this once on a job by using an SDS drill bit shoved into one end of the conduit and then using the floor and your knee you can force the conduit up at an angle with the drill bit putting pressure on one end
This allowed us to thread 4-5 lengths on a job

Make 2 Vs out of some wood then clamp them in a vice. Not tried it myself but that's what I would do . I have metal V blocks that I made a collage that I find handy for clamping tube to saw it

Try and use a pipe wrench and wedge it somehow to keep the pipe from turning

You might get away with using an impact threader without a vice. Maybe a pair of mole grips and a rag....
