Discuss TN-C-S or TN-S? in the Australia area at ElectriciansForums.net

if its tn-s the earthing clamp will be clearly attached to the incoming cable sheath, if its tnc-s the earth will be connected at the main knock out .
hope this helps

Hi Kev
TN-C-S is where the electricity supplier provides a combined protective earthing & neutral conductor as part of a protective multiple earthing system
TN-S is where the electricity supplier provides a protective earthing conductor (usually the metalic covering of the supply cable)that is separate from the neutral conductor.
Regards
Tony.

Hey

If the earthing system is TN-C-S then there should be a sticker on the cut out saying - Protective Multiple Earthing or PME.

This is not always the case. We have been to numerous properties in our line of work, where there is no main earthing conductor and it looks like TN_C_S system, however there is nothing actually there to say it is.
