Is the 2773 just newer with less push in force????

Also when using the 773 or 2773 with a gelbox can I just bury it in the ground (low voltage 48vdc) lighting?

As far as I know the only difference is that the 2773 is more compact than the 773, so takes up less space in a backbox (ideal for behind light switches)

Both are suitable for use in a gel box or similar to be buried in a ground - as long as the cables are correctly clamped/secured so they can't move and stress the connections. The junction box should ideally be designated as a MF (maintenance Free) box

773 and 2773 are designed for solid core cables (or solid stranded), so if you are using flex as most garden lighting does you may well need the 221 series.

If you are burying in a flower bed, I'd recommend burying deep enough to avoid foxes finding it - they have a habit of digging up any cables just under the ground and chewing them.
