Hi Guys
Saw this Co in an editorial in National Newspaper this week. Checked out their site...
Plumber and electrician training with access2 trade careers

So, what are employer/employees views on 'Industry recognised training?'...am I wasting my time & effort going through the longhaul of L2, L3, NVQL3, Regs, 2391 et all when I could attain such widely recognised qualies in the comfort of my own home...

8000 shortgae of Sparks?? That's why nobody on my course has found work or are considering jumping ship from their current career or why employers are asking you to call back in 6 months...
Confused?

Unfortunately these training courses are generally money generators for the scheme providers; they are not interested safe guarding the electrical (or any other trade) industry.

If you could train someone in 6 months ~ without site experience, then why was there a supposed skill shortage a couple of years back. ~ After 30 years in the trade I am still learning, the fact that this forum exists is a testement to the fact that you cannot learn the requisite skills over such a short period.

This or any subsequent government need to address the fact that the (fully) skilled man is becoming an endangered species, everything is a quick fix these days, what is needed is the old fashioned 5 year apprenticeships (who were basicallly used as cheap labour) thus keeping an influx of skills & rotating finances around the country. Teenagers have the largest disposable income of any group.

Regrettably all our glorious:mad: leaders have proven that they are only interested in what they can grasp for themselves, where are the prosecutions!! (breath Gaz Breath)

Sorry for the rant; getting off of the subjest a bit, glad to get it off of my chest though!!
