Andy M

I recently started back on the tools and i haven't had any inspiration with regards to a Trading Name, Which as my Surname is Mayne shouldn't have been difficult.

Any Suggestions?

I did consider "Sparks & Mensa" with a catch phrase "from house bashing to Periodic Inspection Reports" but i haven't got the balls to put that on my Van!!

What is the Best sign Written Van you have seen?

There is a Plumber near me called Robin Wigley and his Van says "Plumbing and Eating" with a picture of an overweight man in overalls holding a spanner. invariably it can be seen parked outside a cafe!!

Havent seen it, but reading my hero's book (the real Shakey)

He had a hippy mate who was a plumber, specialising in blocked toilets and drains

on his van he had "your sh*t is our gold":D

'till the cops had a gentle word in his shell like......

There's a Guy i know Ollie Lewis Desmond MacDonald who Did a variey of Electrical Work and formed a electricians trade organisation and his Van Read

O.L.D MacDonald has a Firm
Electrical Installation, affliated to Eletrical Inspection Organisation.

sorry about that my girlfriend thinks i am sad

its funny, cus as daft as it sounds, you get noticed more than any one else, especially if your good too, people will bring it up in conversations and say I had a company called eg "big bang electrics" and they did my electrics, tehehehe but there good. n they start recommending them to friends n family

how about the tagline ' Got an electrical problem ? Then Ring Mayne' its just a thought.

Saw somthing years ago on a van in Bradford 'Singh and Patel Plumbing and Heating' 'You tried the cowboys, now try the Indians'

Probably been done a few times by now

ring main,

got it now

doh!:p

Very good guys keep them coming i had thought of the Ring Main pun but felt it might be wasted on joe public as most of them don't know what a ring is!

I had thought of becoming like a gimicky themed co. like putting cow horns on the van, wearing a stetson and playing country and western on the radio all day or getting the van resprayed pink and camping it up to try and cash in on the pink pound, what do you think?

Its funny, I saw a 'Mayne Gas & Heating' in Belfast today and it reminded me of this post. Whats wrong with Mayne Electrical Services or similar?

There is acompany in Guildford called AMPS (all mains power) that would have been good but they beat me to it!!

You are right though Mayne Electrical Services sounds ok , Thanks it could be worse my surname could be Pratt, Pratts Electrical services doesn't do it

Give Bane a job ,then you could have "Mayne and Bane".and he does the work of two men,

wouldnt use mayne electrical services the acronym too close messy
if your sticking in one region /county can you use that?

Mayne Electrical Services acronym..... messy gettit:p.......i neeeed a beeeer!!!!!!
