I have 1.2 kWp on my small unshaded south facing roof, with no room to expand....
I'm about to add another 1.6 kWp on my flat roofed extension at the back of the house in a separate string to the 2-MPPT inverter. This roof is a west-facing aspect, so the panels will be largely shaded until around 11 a.m. I can angle the panels in portrait format to face south and optimally catch that mid-day and early afternoon sun, or I can mount them landscape and face west to get longer exposure but with the sun losing its power. Any thoughts, as I wouldn't know where to start on a calculation.
