Guidance on how to win more commercial work.

We are a small electrical contracting firm
Who have a lot of domestic contracts that serve us well. We are looking to gain more commercial work in the following areas:- hotels, gyms, public sector organisations. We are aiming at local medium sized company’s or local franchised outlets.

How do we go about finding these contracts or finding contracts to tender on. In the domestic sector to get started we used my builder, rated people and checkatrade.

From the little ive seen it would appear to be a networking thing, look for trade events that your target clientel will likely attend.

Send you're smarmiest, greasy haired, shiniest suited employee to schmooz and kiss ---. One of our company owners is fantastic at this, little else, but exceptional at this.

Small tester jobs will likely follow, if you don't make a mess of them bigger jobs follow.

As always, it's not what you know but who you know.

Oh, and back handers, big fat brown envelopes.
