Zones in stud walls

Do zones have to be adhered to in a stud wall? The stud is 70mm with 60mm 30mm board on one side and 47mm on the other side

if the cables are > 50mm deep from both sides, the zones might not apply, but i'd stick to them anyway.

Zones extend through a wall to the other side, so it shouldnt it matter where cables are inside the wall?

Only if the wall is less than 100mm thick iirc.
