i hate wearing weights on my feet but i'm going to get a yellow card next time :O shock horror omg!!

are you allowed to wear safety trainers?

have you thought about trying composit boots? there a lot lighter.

thats the moat advice i can offer as i prefer heavier boots

I've never worn steel capped trainers, but if they are like normal trainers do you seriously want to be climbing ladders with no heelstop?

whats wrong with wearing decent, nice looking gear.

not my problem if you look like stepto onsite and to potential clients

LOL. There are many decent, reasonable work "shoes" available which don't look out of place.

Unlike the twxt I saw in TLC today in scruffy trainers, torn jeans, a nike T shirt .....

There are 3 problems I can see. 2 of them important.

1. Lack of heelstop and possible easily worn out solegrip.
2. Lack of ankle support.
3. They will likely need replacing more often.(obviously this is the non important).

I like my black boots, Goliath tuff as old boot.
i really like my haix trekker pro's.

about a year old now and still look new (after a quick polish with kiwi)

guess i should have stated that i do purely domestic work on heating. i don't care what they look like, although fluffy and pink might be pushing it.
I dislike having clumpy shoes/boots on when walking through someones house or in a loft, i'm also more agile on a ladder in trainers than boots much like wearing gloves or not, same thing.
i swear i've worn trainers about 80% of my time doing domestic works yet the only time i've gotten mud over the carpet was with boots on, seems i notice what i'm standing in/on in trainers.

not sure if it's relevant but i'm a small bloke and i also bloody hate the typical work wear sizing 'xl xxl or xxxl sir?' yeah thanks -.-

I've a pair of Makita boots, which are composites and really light. What's the point of hauling more weight around than you need to?

I wear dewalt boots really light and well made cost me £40 in screwfix over a year ago and going strong,

i can tell if i stand on a little pebble in them beleive it or not.

i do pick stones out of the bottom cause i can feel them as i walk, im not very big

there size 7 btw

so thats it then? you are all just large boot wearing blokes (one with freakishly small feet) with no experience of lightweight safety trainers

I did see a pair of high tops steelie trainers in screwfix a while ago ony £20 a pair and had the ankle supports and looked like basketball trainers,

worked with another spark on site once who had adidas looking steelies he said they were good... screwfix again

probably gonna get some cofra's with aluminium toe cap and plate in the midsole.
40% reduction in weight compared to steel aaaand...

It is extremley difficult to explain just how good Cofra's product is in comparison to other safety footware.

British Gas guys issued with Capps trainers I believe they are composite rather than steel, personally I like cat boots not the cheapest but keep eye out for arco sales I got a pair £54 more like hiking boots but really comfy and do a lot driving between jobs don't have to change footwear

Isn't Al more conductive than steel. I for one am in the market for some work boots that don't have my toes dropping off from frostbite in the cold! I fear that my days of getting changed in the snow to go white water kayaking are long gone!
