I'd forgotten how much hard work rewiring can be although this was strictly speaking a partial one, just the original house which had a single very dodgy rubber twin for all the lighting and a slightly larger and equally dodgy rubber twin [with a separate bare stranded tinned copper earth !] feeding umpteen sockets via loads of underfloor JBs and on a 30amp rewirable fuse. The rear kitchen and bathroom extension all done in PVC T&E tested out fine thankfully and was reconnected. TNS supply with a Ze of 0.2 ohms, very good- old lead sheathed cable though.
Everything went really well and the customer is very happy.
Here's a pic of the Hager board I did today, no RFCs at all. :)

Exactly Lee but they didn't show up, but miraculously while I was having a cuppa in a different room the seal fairy must have nipped in and out unseen ! :D

Bet the seal fairy turned up beforehand.
They have impeccable timing you know

She must of been busy today as she was also in Kent this afternoon :D

Nice job Dave.

Out of interest, do you always fit the 5+5 dual RCD Hager CU rather than the 10 way high integrity?

Reason I ask is wholesalers seem to like stocking the 5+5 and not so much the high integrity unless asked for. I don't really see any benefit in fitting the 5+5 over the high integrity as the difference in price is around £3. If you then want to maybe run a sub main to an outbuilding you can't then 'separate' it from the RCD's in the house.

busy week. she was in Bolton yesterday. think she'd been on a visit to Fred Dibnah's back yard. Her hands and face were covered in oil and soot.

i think that's there to stop the larger earthing and bonding cables from pushing the earth bar out of it's mounting.
