Not so much a hate but more of a moan. We were in the garden for about 3 hours fixing an SWA for a hot tub, the home owner was out but there was a house cleaner working inside. We thought sooner or later we would get a cup of but after 2 hours gave up wondering when the consrvatory door opened and she shouted out," I know its a bit late " I looked at my mate and said "at last " the then said " would you like to put yor tools in here in the dry"

city ctr jobs that you can`t get parked anywhere near, have to lug the tool box nearly a mile and as mentioned in the last post the penalty ticket cos you get back to the bay after the ticket has run out

Ugh I hate hate HATE this. I'm get a lot of my work from leafleting, and it just so happend that most of the places with no front gardens (easy to leaflet) are all BLOODY RESIDENTS ONLY PARKING which is a massive bugbear with me - the residents have to pay a fee to get their pass so it's not to benefit them its coffers for the council. Anyhow, I seem to be forever unloading tools quickly and then driving round for half an hour trying to find a normal parking spot. THEN I'm always going back and forth cos it's a two hour zone or whetever. Have been on to the council so many times to see what I can do as a 'tradesman' but they never get back to me. I really hate this.

Working on anyhing old, that you havent installed yourself!! I definately prefer installing new! Lofts! Taking out downlights in plasterboard ceilings and the hole gets damaged! Just before you are about to go to the digs for the day, and you find a fault which you know needs doing today, cos your going home tommorow! And plasterer's when doing house bashing!!!

clients who constanly watch over asking price for everything and huffing and puffing about it even though they know it has to be done. Even worse a mannager who was a spark and trained in 13,14th Edition who thinks everythings fine and doesnt want to do anything.

4 hour inductions 3 hours and 40 mins is watching a crap video telling us wha the company does and how long its been established and other useless and pointless crap and then they moan becuase we charged for the full 4 hours of the induction

How did it ever get like this, eh?
Hopefully now Blairism is a thing of the past a few changes will be made, but I doubt it. It's a shameful situation.

Another pet hate Adverts for jobs and when you take the time to apply you dont even get a wee note/email to say Thanks email set to auto replys are great at least you know your email got there

OOOO And getting told there was a short list of 5 interviewed and you were going to be offered the job till last guy came in and hes doing the exact job bummer

Paper work spent the last 10 days doing risk assessments and method statements for a new project we are starting.

Doin some Demolition work up in whiston hospital atm and i hate it had to do 2 pointless inductions and have to sign in on 3 books and walk 10 mins to actually get onto the site and then i got sent home because you're not allowed to wear Rigger boots on the site (which is a Vinci site btw) their excuse for not allowing them was laughable and you're also not allowed to wear short sleeve shirts on the job .even though the site managers walk around in Riggers and short sleeve shirts. the Site is an absolute joke

Oh and your not allowed to take any bags what so ever onto the site for fear of copper going missing.

Twisted CPC .
Dirty Horrible Lofts full of coal dust
Customers who hover around
Customers who always have opinions
Customers who dont pay
Customers who used to be a sparky down the pit or for water board
customers who think that because i charge 300 quid and not 200 like the cowboy im exploting them..
customers who think that cable costs pennies
customers who keep changing ther mind
customers who want you to start work tomorrow or they give job to some one else
customers who say my electrics are fine!! and it was working before you arrived..!!!!

seems to be a recurring theme

Because some pencil pusher has decided that Riggers dont give you enough ankle support. ive been on a lot of big name sites over the years and Vinci are the only Firm i know who have banned them

those blue bricks we have had to chop out in cass they are as hard as nails. opening a dis board and cables all over no circuits labled at all

PMSL LLoydy as for the riggers what a load of piffle they will be banning steel toe Shoes next sounds like a wee numpty in an office making sure he keeps his job by creating crap for everyone else

What do I hate the most......the fact that since the "recession" began, all the wholesalers just dont carry any stock anymore. Unless it's a drum of 2.5 or a twin socket they have to "order it in" and it takes about 3 weeks for it to arrive!!!!!!!:mad:
