Ignoring the bonfire and what looks like a reversed supply, what size wiring is the supply cable?

I don't know, I'm going to have a look tomorrow.

I'm going to take a some 6mm and 10mm and take it as it comes

Looks like it could have been a poor connection

what's that small box spliced in with the spade terminals?

Inlet valve stop the shower from running if there no eleci
if you have teenage daughters, you need to remove that. nothing gets them out better than a freezing cold shower.

"looks" likes a 6mm but could be wrong. Def. Wrong polarity. Most likely loose connection.

Just got back.

Loose connection

Wrong polarity at the shower. Correct polarity from C/U to pull switch.

Reterminated conductors, sorted polarity. Rcd tested fine and Zs was good. All good.

I did wonder that I could not prove what conditions the 6mm t+e was installed in the loft and around the house. If worst case scenario the cable is underated.

Without ripping the place apart I'm not sure how you can prove installtion method

What watt rating is the shower?

If installation method can't be determined I apply worse case senario

Isn't 6mm t+e wise case around 34a? Or even further 29a?
I would say it was on the limit.

Agreed. I will speak with her tomorrow about upgrading it
