Hi Guys and Gals,
I'm looking for some help, I am looking to find some info on cable carrying capacity of conduit, trunking and ducting in accordance with the IEE Wiring Regulations for my NVQ but I cant seem to find the info in the BS7671 or the OSG? anyone have an idea where to look?
hi
I've been asked to pick up a job where the previous builder went into liquidation and the property management company is asking me to complete the electrical works, relocate a fuseboard.
Everything the previous company has done is exceptionally neat but I'm concerned on the design front...
Been looking into these batteries from dewalt standard 18v battery but has an output equivalent to 54v.
Bloody expensive but they look like they will last ages and produce some serious output...
i have just done a test on a property and the pfc at origin of installation was 0.712ka. The 3871 mobs have a 6000a breaking capacity. I am a bit confused as I have read something about it always being higher anyway (16ka) for a fuse or main switch 100a or less. Any info here would be much...
Hi, I have a question relating to cable size in 12v wiring on cars and the amount of current it can take.
After looking at a friends car on the ignition barrel one of the cables went back to a 40A fuse, yet the cable its-self was around 2.5mm. How is this possible? or am I missing something? As...
I currently have a 100amp 3 phase supply.

We have a couple of damaged Day4Energy 240w modules to replace and so far as I can tell this company no-longer exists. Well not in the same form as it did a few years ago anyway.
A new company has taken up the technology but are not producing these panels. They have suggested...
I'm looking at an install of a double oven cooker ... 11.3kW maximum demand ... and rather than use 10mm T&E for the final connection I have been looking at the CCC tables in Appendix 4
Table 4E2A on page 368 (3rd Amend of 17th) states I should be able to use a cable with 6mm CSA conductors...
Morning
The company that I work for has recently had an electrical inspection carried out. One of the findings consisted of 'ineffective overcurrent protection of cable due to rating of protective device and CSA of cable'
Basically a 100A isolator was feeding a 16mm SWA. The SWA conforms to BS...

current carrying capacity
Current carrying capacity is a figure which is given to us by manufacturers, correct? Now, I've watched those videos of the guy trying to set fire to a piece of 1mm and it takes quite a bit more current to set a light. So for example, if you had a 9kw shower and a 9.5kw instantaneous unvented...

Hi All,
I am new to this site so be gentle please....
My question is this... I have been to an existing job which has 55 slave EMLs throughout the building. We are experiencing volt drop on the longer routes with the LED fitting, approx 40 lights. The LED fittings start to strobe as they hit...

I have just completed an EICR and am unsure if the Wylex BS3036 fuses require a code due to their breaking capacity related to the PFC.
Firstly I would like to identify if they are S1A, S2A or S4A as that would solve the problem of the PFC being 1.35kA, however I dont think its...
Hello, I was just looking for some help with the above subject with looking up the tables for the various protective device and finding the values of C connected with CCCC. I was looking for the rating factor for a BS88 fuse and I found at least 2 different tables the difference being that there...
