The lighting circuits have no cpc and on doing the risk assessment I have found five class 1 lamps with metal shades. The rest of the lamps are class 2.

Hi new to pat testing just got Fluke 6500 tester and was wondering the process for testing a hard wired appliance like a dishwasher which has a spur switch above work top.

when pat testing class 2 equipment do you only have to do a insulation resistance test as a miniumum? or do you have to do more to cover the code of practice
Just tested for a new client about 90 appliances.My tester does Class 1/2 and IT.Class III for appliances under 50volts I came across 4 off.2 Laptops and 2 Telephones with transformers etc.The transformers don't have Class III symbols but are under 50 volts.So I always test as IT.

changed a consumer unit today from old wylex board to new 17th dual rcd, when i was stripping out i noticed no earth in the lights cable. what would be the best way around this re-wire or can you fit class 2 fittings and switches.
