Microwave Leakage Testing

Hi, I'm sorry I know this has been mentioned before but unable to find the thread. Looking to purchase a Microwave Leakage tester and interested in models you can recommend.Also wondered about fee's to the testing.

I use a CEM DT-2G Microwave tester available on Ebay for about £27 ish. Manufaturer states does NOT need Calibrating.

As to fees
The way I see it you dont charge more for doing a class I appliance than a class II even though it takes more time so why charge extra for a microwave safety check,
I do the microwave safety checks, ie Leakage & interlock checks free, its an added incentive.
If they want microwave power checks done that is not a required safety check so I do charge extra for that.

Thanks for your thoughts, yes have just ordered a CEM DT -2G worked out £31 with postage, think will stick to it a free service.

High, as an ex Leigh inhabitant, I thought I ought to suggest:
1) Buy a suitable optical thermometer - Maplin have a good range, mine was £10.00
2) Buy a small tupperware type container with a lid,
3) Expand your test so you have a leakage test, (ensure you include the door release mechanism) and by checking the temperature increase in a fixed volume of water over a set time of operation include a power usage check ( i.e. indicates will cook properly). Buy specific microwave testing labels and always quote the service as a specific test that you will carry out on all microwaves. Charge £5 - £10 per microwave.
4) If you get a leakage failure, give the door seal a good wipe then retest.

Heres my thinking on the micro power issue if its low itsgoing to take a wee bit longer to irradiate the food if its high the punters gonna complain the the foods wasted and bucket the machine and spend £30 at asda (other supermarkets are available )
i have never spent additional time on this as i have no expertise in adjusting the power ouput of a microwave oven
I do my visual class one interlock and microwave leakage tests always remembering to put a cup of water or something in the thing ..If its warm when i am done the functionality checks complete.
I charge microwaves at the same rate as regular class 1 tests, additional time you say ,well usually its easier to get at the plug etc on these than many other appliances.
