    Rccb protection of lighting circuits

    My 1990 property does not have the lighting circuits protected by the Distribution Board RCCB.Only the power circuits are protected.If I get a trip from the RCCB the lights stay on. Do I need to upgrade my system to include RCCB for lighting?

    Surge protection device failure mode

    I have come across a failed SPD, I thought I would take it apart and post pics for people to discuss. It appears to work by melting an alloy or type of solder to break the connection. I guess this is after the MOV decreases its resistance and increases the current.

    PV and not and RCD protection.

    Had a customer ask for RCD to be changed to Type A as he has had a company install a PV unit which they have left with the spur switched off as new regulations state that PV units must have a type A RCD 🤔. Has anybody else had this situation??

    Plastic board above entrance with bs1361 fuses only - no RCD protection. How would you code that?
