As stated a fuse will blow at twice the rated value so a 5A fuse could potentially blow at 10A. However when using a fuse as a means of protection, you obviously want the fuse to blow to in order to prevent...

I have read somewhere, maybe in BS7671 or on a forum site regulation that states that 16mm meter tails can or should be used on supplies rated at 80amps or under and 25mm tails on supplies rated at 100amps.
I have scoured BS7671 and various forums but cannot find this...

Hi,
I was looking at the MK switches as we wanted
them to match with the sockets.
But they only have a 32A switch which
matches, the 50A switch is quite large.
Will the 32A switch be ok for this induction hob?

I have 220V coming from my Wall Socket, so I assume I have 220V to use.
What I’d like to do is, use the...

I need to switch 2No 3kW heaters on using a 7 day heating programmer. Presumably I'll need a contactor to switch that load rather than the heating programmer (?).
Can anyone recommend a suitable one? Many thanks if anyone can help,

There's an item on the One Show at the moment about Rated people and how their ratings aren't always what they seem.
It's nearly finished now, but you can still watch it on iplayer.
