Hello everyone,
I have a fairly technical question. I wonder what will happen to the efficiency of the PV system when we shade the bottom of one solar module (HCC) connected in series? Will the performance of the entire string decrease by half because only the top works in this module? Isn't it...
This has me clueless. Why must the neutral be unearthed at the transformer and generator and only allowed earthing at the switch-gear?
I can't see any reason because the neutral will normally not be carrying any current and thus no parallel current paths would form.
Does anyone know of a source of a dual socket back box with an extended 'skirt' (see photo)
The broken one is on a concrete wall with the feed through a hole in the wall at the top of the skirting so other options are limited.
Thanks
Jim
Hi there,
I am having an issue with my 2014 Honda Vezel where the source on the radio would change by itself, that is, it would jump from FM to AM on its own.
Could someone advice me on what I should look for and how I can diagnose the issue.
Hi - No idea if I am writing in the right place. Please, I cannot get a straight answer when the temperature is 0- -20 Celsius - where can I find a chart of what normal KWhr consumption is?
I think mine is using far too much electricity
thanks
Just a quick one does a three phase 25mm sub main in swa 4 meters long have to be fused even thou it comes from a bs1361 100amp services fuse then from a standard three phase isolation switch fitted from electricity company? Being swa and 25mm in size would this be acceptable?

Hi all
I am desperately trying to source several of these Legrand RCD twin socket outlets for office 3 compartment floorboxes but not having much luck. Could anyone very kindly point me in the right direction? :) Many thanks
Hellos
In AC circuits, electrons flow from phase (live) and must return to neutral through a load (assuming single phase) just like the way in DC circuits where energy flows from + and return to - (supply terminal) hence "completing" the circuit and doing a significant job i.e glowing a lamp...
Hi there,
I have an air source heat pump with a few issues:
1. It gets stuck on defrost mode. When it goes to defrost, it gets stuck and ends up becoming an air conditioner in the depths of winter (fun). I suspect this may be a faulty valve (or what ever reverses the coolant) getting stuck on...
Hi, Could anyone help with where to source a pattress box 150mm wide with the two fixing screws to attach the front panel set at 137mm apart... all the usual suppliers seem to be around 130 ish!
Thanks, Jim.
My NIBE F2015 air source heat pump which is only 7 years old has an apparent fan motor failure. The fan turns freely and the motor starter capacitor has been replaced but the unit will still not run. Any suggestions for a fix?
Im Working on a new build site at the moment, and the kitchen layout has changed to include an island with a hob on it.
Meaning im goin to have to get power to it.
The underfloor heating pipes have been run in already and the floor has been screeded.
Theres about 50mm before you get to the...

I need black surface back boxes. PVC or ABS conduit boxes would be fine, as would metalclad, but not the crunchy ones. - There will be some conduits involved.
I can find only Wickes (who sell a single outlet black box only, no doubles), same at CPC. Occasional Ebay sellers do have some with...
Hi
Just signed up to see if anyone can point me in the right direction with air source heat pump for my above ground pool. It stopped working a few weeks ago and I thought the display unit had gone. However I've tried to replace it but that doesn't power up either. I've had the top off it and...
Plan is to illuminate a bunch of impressive trees (including a few Californian Redwoods!) in a garden. Client wants to be able to change the colour of the lights easily and (here's the catch) independently from each other.
I've found lights that look suitable in several places but they're all...
Hi,
I install a few heat pumps in a domestic situation from time to time. I have recently started renovating an old 1800s cottage which has no access to mains gas which made me think about putting in an air source heat pump. I was looking at an ecoDan as I've been told they are best on the...
