Trying to change out dual GU24 sockets in 4 ceiling fixtures with E26 sockets but can't seem to find sockets that have this threaded stud on the bottom/end.

Possible causes for these I-V curve's

Tested 2 strings today (twice) & each time string 1 had poor fill factor. Any ideas what may be the cause of this type of result?

UK Opinion on these pics please

Hi, I am the wife of an electrician feeling absolutely gutted. We have had a complaint from a customer who is seeking a £500 refund for a consumer unit change that my husband undertook for her. I joined here in the hope other electrician's could shed some light on what's happened as I have no...

What RCBOs are compatible with these?

Looking to add an additional circuit to this board. What currently available brand of RCBO’s are going to available. I suspect with the Havells shown there are already two brands mixed in? What’s the other brand with the black oval and red triangle symbol?

Difference in spec for these D3V microswitches?

Hi. Just replaced the second door microswitch in my Sharp R959 combi/microwave oven - there's three there in total; the first went a couple of years back, and the third is still ok. That's not a problem - it's been great machine for many years, and has only ever required a new TT motor, oven...

How do I change these lights

I have two 'regular' lights in the ceiling and I want to change them to spot light fixtures. (images attached). I cant fit the mounting plate over the plate that is already on the ceiling that is housing some cables (I assume because there are two lights on the circuit). So how to I go about...

Softball 101: best way to re-attach the EU plug with these wires?

Newbie here with a fear of fire and other DIY mahem. OK--so I have this heating element for my ski boot bag (essential equipment in Switzerland) and it has two plugs--one for the car and the other for 240V household use. As I was stumbling into the elevator at 5AM on my way to the slopes I...

Looking for suggestions on how to fix these connections

Unfortunately some soap spilled into the connector box of my 24v cabinet lighting and ruined the connections on the female power supply end and the male connection on each of the lights. I can replace the power supply female hub fairly cheaply- ANSLUTA LED driver with cord, white, 19 W - IKEA -...

What transformer is needed for these lights please?

When I set up my Christmas outdoor lights this year, i realised that I must be using the wrong transformer as half the lights on the string are not powered or dull. Looking at the label on the lights, I can see it says 36V ac 11.52 W. The white plug you can see the lights going into on the image...

Are these cables too close to an LED downlight?

I'm fairly certain the answer is yes. But I've drilled a hole for an LED downlight and unfortunately it's busy with cables. Moving it will be a hassle due to the spacing of the other lights, just before I do - are the LED lights somehow such low temp that I could in fact just keep it here...

RCD protection on these tails and why 2 isolators?

Hi all I have a few questions about that video. 1. I don't understand why there are two isolators on the tails between the meter and the CU. One is fused and one isn't, so what's the point in the one that isn't? 2. Why would this 'require RCD protection' like the guy in the video says? I...

How do I safely connect these two?

As seen in the pictures, I need the pigtail style connected to the other style. It needs to be fully weather proofed and safe as this is wiring for a light bar on my Jeep Wrangler. So please let me know how to safely do so, rather than just shoving the two together! Thanks in advance

Not seen one of these for a while

This is a disconnected switch in my in laws storage shed. Sorry about the paintwork, it got sprayed when the walls were done. I never realised it’s just an old toggle switch inside, mounted at an angle.
