Discuss Anyone used these new sockets from MK? What are your thoughts? in the Electrical Tools and Products area at ElectriciansForums.net

Seen loads of youtuber sparks reviews on the new MK rapido sockets, some mixed reviews but the general concensus is if you are doing a new build or rewire they will save you time against fitting regular screwed sockets

I have seen afew people say they struggle to put the new MK rapido socket into a 25mm back box as with the 2 x 2.5s its very tight

It's a great idea. But as I have a dislike for the MK logic range as a whole, from an installers point of view, and from an aesthetics point of view, I won't be installing any.
If Click Mode start to become available with this type of connection, and the price is only marginally more than a standard socket, then yes, I'd love to give them a go.

Be very interesting to see which consumer unit maker starts to apply lever connections to all off of its boards
Dabbing in CPCs and Ns with lever connections would be super fast indeed

Fine, till you find that there are never enough holes to stick the wires in. At least with a decent screw terminal you can get several wires in.
And of course, once you get to RCBOs, then the neutrals have to go in the breakers as well as the lives - and there's definitely limited room for lever terminals. I could see anything over two levers not fitting - and with only two levers, there will be a lot of situations where it doesn't work.
