I have a doorbell I want to install. The issue is the 16v transformer is designed to sit on a DIN rail. I have a 10 way 17th edition BG Nexus consumer unit which is fully loaded with RCBO's.
I got a guy round for a quote and he said if it won't fit on the DIN rail it would be fine to leave it...
In one of our bathrooms we have a japanese style toilet with bidet/dryer and a electric motor bath.
The electrician installed it with an isolating transformer Carroll & Meynell 3000VA Intermittent Isolation Transformer 230V/230V - Screwfix -...
Hi,
Our house is 150m away from the street. We installed a 600V step-up/down system to bring electricity to it in order to avoid excessive losses and very large cables. The 240V/600V 50KVA transformers are rated NEMA-3R enclosures, located one 10ft above ground and the second one 5ft above...
I have installed a number of 120v smart light switches and smart bulbs which I have set up on a schedule via an app. I would like to add another smart light switch for a light fixture that has a 120v to 12v transformer inside the light fixture, lighting six 12v (previously halogen) currently LED...
Hello --- In the planning stages for a new custom home build -- The house will be several hundred feet from the road and I want to have the power underground --- I am wondering if I should inquire about having a pad mount transformer in close proximity to the Power Pole Source rather than a pole...
Hello All.
New here and will be flooding with terrible questions for my own knowledge. Just trying to learn so some questions like this maybe very simple and I'm just daft
1) On site we have a Aux Transformer,
From the LV side of the transformer we have an MCCB Board with a few circuits.
Now on...
Hi.
I have seen these transformer like things on the higher voltage powerlines when I go to regional areas in NSW and I was wondering what they are? I can't remember seeing them where I come from (Central Coast NSW)
They couldn't be transformers because they are not connected to any other...
I never did like transformer theory in my degree course and that was 40 years ago. I'm a boat builder now and we tend to have big battery banks and thus big chargers with all sorts of dodgy stuff going on. I have repurposed a series of power transformers to be used as the basis of high power...
I'm working on a site in the UK where a joinery company will be installing bespoke vanity cabinets.
The cabinets will have MDF/mirrored doors with a demista (heated pad) laminated between the mirror and the MDF door.
The Demista is powered by a 24v SELV transformer, located behind a small panel...

Hello,
I am an American living in Germany. I have some US appliances (120v) that I want to use, so I bought a 5000 Watt step down transformer.
Unfortunately, plugging in the transformer usually trips the breaker. More than 1/2 of the time, but less than 3/4. When the breaker does not trip...
Hi, I'm new here and looking at this True Sine Wave Power Inverter from AliExpress, but I have never seen any inverter without a transformer?
How do they work without one, and how does this one's build look for a cheapish China one? (£125)
As I'm not abele to spend much money as it's to power a...
Hi there im in training, but my question is using using a 3 phase 480v delta to 208/120 delta transformer 30kva and wiring it in reverse for 208 primary input for 480 volt secondary . My motor requirements is 460volts with the motor being 10hp,(14amps) but it has variable motor controls which...
Hello,
We moved into an old house (Wimpy 1957) and the doorbell doesn't work.
I read the AC voltage on the old Friedland 752 transformer, and it's at 13V, not 3 or 5 or 8 as per the options. The solenoid on the bell might be getting too much power.
Why might it read 13V?
This person also...
