Hi all, got a new range cooker I’m connecting which comes with a 10mm flex connected. The outside diameter I nearly 20mm and won’t fit into the existing cooker outlet plate. Does anyone know of a supplier which allows for larger diameter cables?

Failing that I’ll have to connect into an adaptable box and wire in t&e to the outlet plate.

Thanks

Si

Legrand 730026 is quite spacious, but not sure if it will accommodate 20mm.

Edit: Found the technical data sheet and it's no use at all.

Crabtree 4506 accomodates 2x10mm - not sure if that might accommodate the flex you have

10mm. Got to admit I’m suprised with that size.

Seems a bit oversized to me, but what do i know if that’s the cable that Manufacturers have fitted, fine.

Are you sure it’s not 6mm.

do you know the full loading of the cooker

I suspect it's not the outlet plate itself that's the problem, but the size of the back box behind it. Probably be OK with a 47mm box.
Other point, is whether the existing feed to the outlet plate, from, and including the MCB in the CU, is up to the job of supplying the current needed by this appliance, which is deemed by the manufacturer to be so high that it requires a 10mm2 flex.

Mine came with a 10mm too.
IIRC I completely bodged it by screwing a PVC adaptable box to the kit, glanding the flex in to it and boarding around the box.
Changing it will be a pain in the arse when that time comes.
