That's all gravy. But it's the guy who then takes it one step further, then the next guy sees it as a free pass. Then you get the actual racist homophobic whatever-ist reply and it makes all the first guys look the same then lol
It's where the line is drawn that's hard.
I tell you what, if you guys ever have a minute to checkout our plumbing forum. It has really really gone down hill. And now we've ended up with some cult of people replying with 'just get a plumber in' when it started off us having a statement for people asking about a gas boiler.
The standard reply was something like 'it's illegal for you to touch a boiler or gas line without being GSR, go over here to get a qualified gas engineer, and don't find a bloke from the pub who says they can do it' kinda thing.
But over the last 9-12 months, because it's gone unchecked, it's like Chinese whispers, each time our forum 'rule' has been quoted, and others read it, re-quoted it, it's got more firm, covers more situations, and puts off more people.
Now some poor sod just wants his tap washer replaced and they're asking the poster to go ---- themselves because they aren't a plumber.
There needs to be some line drawn lol
And staff need stand this side of it. They take the role on knowing that. I think.
