Hi, I have a question regarding electrical connections. I currently have a 13A oven that is below 3kw so is plugged in using a normal 13A plug. I want to add an 13A induction hob which is also a normal 13A plug. Is it acceptable to spur a single socket from the oven socket and plug the hob into that? Or does it have to be totally separate?

Yes with the following considerations

1. The exiting socket must not already be a spur. (assuming circuit is a ring)

2. Be mindful of the loading on the circuit, it should be fine if you have a separate ring circuit for the kitchen. But Washing machine, Dishwasher, Drier, Kettle, Fridge, Toaster etc etc. Most Kitchens have a dedicated circuit for the cooker which reduces the burden on the ring circuit.
