Is there a 230v 3 pin commando polarity tester that is a reasonable price? I have seen the Martindale one at £45.00
Ideally i would like one about £15.00 /£ 20.00.

I am just fixing a socket outside for my camper van to keep the topped up in the winter. The solar panels are ok for the summer.

I know i have connected it in the right polarity would just like to "see" it lol.

cheers

Commando plug, short flex, 13amp trailing socket, then 13amp polarity tester.
just what i would say. i have one in my kit.. cost about a tenner for the bits. but make sure yo get the polarity correct when yo make the lead up.

Just stick probe ends up it off your tester! I've done THOUSANDS like this in muddy fields

Related to this, for IEC sockets (10A & 16A) I just cannibalised some moulded leads, soldered on 4mm safety plugs and use it with my MFT to check both polarity and Zs, etc.

Our UPS measures 2kA PSSC due to the good voltage regulations, but we all know it aint going to deliver that if it came to a fault!
