Hello hope someone can help.
I’ve read a few posts on the forum of people in similar situations as myself but never given me the answers I was looking for.
Currently trying to get into the trade but as is my age it’s a little difficult to find any sort of paid experience. I have a little experience working on a new fire system which took around 6 months but that was 6 years ago and I wasn’t able to find work after the contract so I ended up going down another career. I have a level 3 installation qualification from said 6 years ago.
So my questions are, does my level 3 installation qualification still stand up and if not would I have to do a bridging qualification?
Currently being in full time employment with a mortgage I wouldn’t be able to afford to live being on an electricians mate salary so would the best option for me be to volunteer where I can on weekends to gain some experience?
Really not sure what options I have to get into the trade and I’d like to avoid the whole paying for a course route, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.
