I need to run a cable approximately 40m from the meter to a garage where I want an electrician to install a fuse board and EV charger. I currently have a single phase supply but the DNO is upgrading it to three phases in the next 12 months. The EV charger can have a single or three phase supply so will be 7kw initially and 22kw once the three phase supply is installed. The garage (with a loft) could have two EV chargers, some heating, an electric shower, lighting and a few other basic loads in the future.

The cable run is fiddly and time consuming (through ducts and manholes) - I have run a pull cord and now want to run the cable myself so then an electrician can do the rest of the work.

I am confused about what cable to order though. A 4 core cable so I can get 3 phase power once the supply is upgraded? But what about the cable size? Should I go 6mm, 10mm or something different?

Thank you!
