Hello and thank you for accepting my request to join the forum!
So, I have had a Miller 140 welder now for 5 years or better and it has suited me fairly...until now. I purchased a mini jet boat project and I need a welder that will handle aluminum welding better, a 220v unit is needed now.
What if any options do I have for adding a 220 outlet in my garage??? I have a subpanel with the breaker positions full. I have read recently of tandem breakers, is this a possibility to use just to free up a dual position for a 50 amp breaker?
I would like to add a 50amp dual for a 220v outlet straight down short run under the panel between the studs in the wall using appropriate gauge wire. I have included pics in hopes that I may get some feedback on this issue and I thank you for any feedback in advance!
