Hi all,
I have changed from NICEIC to NAPIT, can anyone comment on how my annual assesment might compare, I have one coming up in August.
Thanks

What were your reasons for changing? Very interesting

Mainly to reduce my costs, however since joining NAPIT I find them far more friendly, with a more sensible and practical attitude and far more helpful than NICEIC.:)

I myself originally registered with NIC, after waiting 4 months for an assesment I gave up and went with NAPIT, sorted within 3 weeks. Couple of threatening letters from NIC over fees, I rang and told them where to go and they appear to have dropped it, its been at least a year since I last heard from them.
My advice to anyone would be do not go anywhere near the NIC, during my correspondance they have been incompetent at best and down right arrogant at worst.

Very easy, my assesor was really friendly didn't even feel like an assesment. Checked all my paperwork, insurance, calibration certs etc and the certificate I'd completed, then did a visual on the job and asked me to carry out a Zs test and that was it! I must say that I do think I got a good one and that they're not all necessarily as easy as that!
During conversation I got the impression that he was asking questions to test my knowledge but it didn't come accross like that, we could have just been 2 sparks chatting in the pub!
