Hi guys, I'm not sure if I'm posting this is the right place as I don't use this website often. I'm looking to join the NIC Domestic scheme using my own house rewire as the job I'll be showing them. My first question is: do I need to get someone/a registered electrical contractor to sign off my work and notify a scheme that work has been carried out here before I get the NIC round to inspect my work? The fact that they allow you to show them your own house rewire tells me that they'd be ok with it as long as I have tested and documented it as, you know, I kind of want to get registered with the NIC and sign it off myself. I don't want to get them round and fail immediately. And my second question: is there anything you'd recommend/any advice you'd give to someone like myself just starting out with the NIC? Thanks

Give them a call and they'll tell you exactly what they want, but if they're anything like NAPIT, they'll let you notify through your membership once you've been assessed.

Speak to the NICEIC re notification.

They are getting stricter with new members and if you pass get used to the thousands of negative comments people make about them ?

Good luck ?
