Just thought I would remind people it's April Fools day today.

So ignore anything said and written today, it is likely to be nonsense, so don't trust anyone!!

(Basically it's just like any other day!)

Any decent stories about April fools jokes on apprentices?

We had an apprentice who was sent to the stores for a chalk-line, he thought the foreman was taking the p*** so disappeared for an hour then came back and drew a line on the ground with a piece of chalk, the foreman went absolutely ape...

I was training a kid to do PAT testing once and April 1st was his 2nd day. I told him to rotate all the plug-top fuses when pat testing 'to make sure the fuses wear evenly from both ends'. He lasted until 10:30 before the penny dropped.
Another trainer then told him he'd better put them all back in case the client noticed and he obediently did about five before going "hang on....". He wasn't exactly the sharpest tool in the shed, poor chap.

When I was working in a cotton mill doing electrical maintenance I used to send a apprentice to go to the shop to get me a bucket of steam. The shop manager was in on it to. ?. Everyone have a great weekend

I read a story once from a guy who when he was an apprentice, house bashing near where his gran lived, knew when they were taking the p***, and used his missions to "go and get...." as cover to do some wiring work at his grans.

He would come back with what they asked for if he could.

Skirting board ladder? Go to a pet shop and buy one of the little ladders for a budgie cage.

A long weight? Hardware store, get a sash window weight.
