Hello new to the forum here. I just moved to Arizona from Illinois and electric here is a tad different with Romex. I have you basic fan / I ight combo and when I hooked up with different combos from boxes (pictures attached) I can not get it to turn on. Can anyone help me to explain what is going on here? The one yellow wire on switch is connected to ground. I'm just using temporarily until I get this going. There used to be a fan/heater/light combo here from the 80s. Any additional Bathroom Fan / Light Combo Question 20200406_161822 - EletriciansForums.netBathroom Fan / Light Combo Question 20200406_161846 - EletriciansForums.netinfo I can provide please let me know. Thank you so much.

From a distance it is impossible to say without guessing.

You need a tester, preferrably a volt meter that is also a continuity tester. Turn off the breaker (safety first!) Remove all wirenuts and separate all wires. Draw a sketch of the wiring and use the continuity tester to figure out which wire connects to which. Then it will be easy to reconnect so that the switch turns on the fan.

Thanks will do. Sorry for bad pictures. I took those before bed and I have chest freezer on that breaker. due to covid 19 I couldn't chance losing power to that area overnight. I'll follow up.

Ok so I followed everything with my volt meter / continuity tester and this is what i come up with... I rewired everything and had both the fan and the light working. Went to mount to ceiling and after connecting vent to outside I figured i'd try it once more before locking everythinbg in place... Flip the switch and trips the breaker everytime now. Any ideas? I'm using a 15A two switches leviton switch. Please help my sanity is going fast.

Thanks
