Discuss being mugged off by CEF in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

£35.00 for 100M of 1mm t&e. and to make matters worse it's a real rubbish to strip. think it's time to find new wholesalers.
Why do you use them anyway? It amazes me that people think their local wholesalers are "looking after them", when most of them are more expensive than the local screwfix! I am continually being rang up by various wholesalers, offering credit and local "emergency" delivery neither of which I need, and when challenged to beat online or screwfix prices go very quiet. I just get all my cable online from a well know supplier, its cheaper than any wholesaler will give you if you spend enough to get zero postage.

You're just miffed you spent £35 on cable - leave Pete alone (he bites).

I wanted a new pair of side cutters while I was In Neweys the other week, They quoted me £29 plus VAT. I showed them the price from Screwfix, which was £28.99 all in and they beat it.

i know it's not cable, but it illustrates the point of showing them the competition.

I've just logged into our CEF account online and our list price is 31.73 with vat. And we always get something off that so your local branch is a bit dear.

My personal electricfix account is showing 27 including.

Screwfix is 27.16 including. Massive trade discount right there....
