Im looking to by a drill with hammer function only, whats the best make to buy? I am toying with the 36 volt bosch, is there anything better on the market. Oh and I would prefer cordless, or is 110/230v drills better for chasing.

If purely for chasing I've heard good things about the chasing tools (see another thread) can't comment on them myself as i haven't got one yet, but thats my next purchase.

makita 110v. loads of oomph and no flat batteries after 2 chases

The lightest 2kg hammer drill you can find from one of the big names with say 2J of impact force you don't want anything heavy, chasing above your head knackers your arms. Personally swear by Bosch stuff, though I use a Hilti TE7-C corded.

Ok so I've decided against a battery drill and opting for corded. I'm looking to go for 240 volt instead of 110, saves luging the transformer round with me. Will. A 750 watt drill be man enough for the job?

my makita is 780 watt. more than adequate.

i was on a job where they bought a handful of Hitachi drills and they were all knackered in a month, altho they were used by a load of cave men who did not think to let them cool off a bit when they started spitting grease and stuff out of them.

makita hk1800 if its only for chasing i use one my old man had about 10 years ago still going strong :2guns:

i used a heavy dewalt one the other day and it weas old that you couldnt read what model, and was good, so i say the more weight the better and didnt have to use chaser, this drill done both
